I'm using Prezi for my presentation. I will most likely write down a few things on note cards if there's one thought that I want to make sure I talk about, but mostly I'll just have the key points in my presentation help guide me say what I what to say. There's not much I feel I can do to help prepare for questions, since the presentation is mostly all about my experience so I'll already have most of the knowledge necessarily. One new appreciation I had is for Photoshop. I was never a fan of Photoshop since I thought it would take too long to fully understand, and it wasn't worth it. But I've began to realize that there's a lot of benefits to knowing how to work Photoshop. Day to day activities were different each day, there was never a set schedule. I've been contributing by being a second set of hands to my mentor, which is always nice to have.

Communication is very important among a business. Even though my mentor works alone, he deals with clients and framers and any other important people that'll help get his job done and I've learned that it's super important to have a clear understanding of what the client is asking, and what my mentor needs in order to achieve what is asked of him.
My internship 'project' consists of small projects that sort of make up my internship experience. It was hard in the beginning to come up with my main project, so my mentor and I talked and I concluded that it's probably a better idea that my project is just smaller ones. One project I talked about in an earlier blog; copy shooting for a Mission Hills Art contest. This was super helpful to help me learn more about the simpler mechanics of cameras and set ups and lighting since before I hardly had any experience. I gained the skill and knowledge to know how to recreate what I had done.
A school week and a work week are super different from each other. The times and the responsibilities are entirely different since there's a structured day at school, whereas there's something new every day at internship. I've really enjoyed the non-structured days, and having longer days, and shorter days depending on what need to get done each day. That'll definitely influence the direction in my life, understanding that I like having something new, and that I enjoy when it's not the same structured work. Some days we're out shooting, other days we're stuck inside!

aboutI reached out to David Harrison Photography for Internship, and luckily he agreed to take me in as an intern. I've been interested in photography/film for many years now, and am excited to experience what a photographer's work is like on a day-to-day basis. ArchivesCategories |
